Spring is finally rolling in, which means it’s time to ditch the winter layers and get outside! Warmer weather brings prime hiking, biking, and scenic strolls around Fort Collins, and we’ve got a lineup of trails that are perfect for the season.

Let’s dive in! ⬇️

Spring in Fort Collins – Best Outdoor Adventures to Kick Off the Season

Hiking in Colorado is a year-round activity, but let’s be real—winter hikes can be a little extra with snow, wind, and icy trails. Now that spring is creeping in, it’s time to hit the trails without the frostbite.

Not sure where to go? No worries. We’ve rounded up the best spring-friendly hikes, biking routes, and scenic spots in and around Fort Collins that will get you outside without too much hassle.

🥾 Arthur’s Rock (Lory State Park) â€“ 4 miles roundtrip, moderate effort, and panoramic views of Horsetooth Reservoir. It’s a classic, and it won’t disappoint.

đź’¦ Horsetooth Falls – A short, family-friendly 2-mile hike that leads to a waterfall (just don’t wait until summer when it dries up).

🏔 Coyote Ridge Trail â€“ Perfect for hiking or biking! A rolling trail with beautiful foothill views and a chance to spot some local wildlife.

đźšµ Poudre River Trail – A smooth, scenic biking and walking path that stretches from Fort Collins to Greeley. No major elevation, just a peaceful ride along the river.

🌄 Kruger Rock (Estes Park) â€“ A 5-mile hike with arguably the best views of Estes Park. Worth the drive!

If you’re heading out, remember: spring trails can still be muddy, and bears are waking up from hibernation—so stay aware, pack out your trash, and enjoy the fresh air!
