Shh... These NW FoCo Spots Are (Still) Underrated 🌄🍦

From Watson Lake views to hidden ice cream stops, here are the quiet corners of Bellvue and Laporte locals love—but don’t always share.

Hidden Gems of NW Fort Collins, Laporte & Bellvue

Hey there, FoCo,

We love Horsetooth and Old Town—but sometimes the real magic is where Google Maps doesn’t shout. This week, we’re heading northwest to explore the laid-back beauty of Bellvue, Laporte, and NW FoCo. Fewer crowds, more charm—let’s wander a little off the radar.

🌾 Northwest FoCo’s Overlooked Gems

Tired of trails crowded with strollers and selfie sticks? Head northwest of Fort Collins and explore some of the lesser-known treasures around Laporte and Bellvue—quiet corners where the beauty sneaks up on you.

💧 Watson Lake: A peaceful morning stroll along the river offers serene views of Goat Hill and the Bellvue Dome. Feed the trout at the fishery while you’re there—yes, really.

🌄 Reservoir Ridge (Lower Trail): A flat hike with rolling views across farmlands, and a quieter route if you start from Bobolink Spur. One scenic overlook even gives you a peek at Claymore Lake in the distance.

🪦 Bingham Hill Cemetery: It might sound spooky, but it’s a beautifully quiet, historic spot with views over the valley—especially peaceful at golden hour.

🍦 Noosa Farmhouse: Grab some ice cream at the source, just off the beaten path. It’s one of those places where the cows are probably happier than you are.

🍽️ Vern’s Place: Patio dinners, light breezes, and that old-school charm that makes you linger longer than expected.

These aren’t your “top 10 on TripAdvisor” recs. They’re the kind of spots you share with friends who promise not to post them all over the internet. 😉
